Summer market returns this weekend

St. Petersburg, Florida -- The Saturday Morning Market's Summer Market returns to shaded Williams Park starting this weekend. The park is located in downtown on First Avenue N., between Third and Fourth Streets.

The Summer Market continues through August 24, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Pinellas County, Florida -- The Inmate Horticulture program at the Pinellas County Jail is a large plant and tree nursery accessible to the public. Inmates learn plant growing and landscaping skills. Citizens can purchase plants and trees at the complex during specified hours.

The Horticulture Program has been on site for inmates for several years and offers plant materials for sale to the public.

St. Petersburg, Florida -- J.CON Salon and Spa is expanding with a new branch location, J.CON Salon at Gateway at 8501 Fourth Street North. That's just two miles north of the current main location.

"We can accommodate thousands of people who live in Tampa and Clearwater and work in the vast number of offices located in the Gateway area.  It's simply making the J.CON experience convenient to folks based on where they work rather than where they live," Owner Joe Connell said.

There are 16 stylist stations and a private waxing room.

St. Petersburg, Florida -- The 1812 sailing ship Lynx has arrived for a 12-day stay for public tours and student educational excursions at the Harborage Marina, 1110 Third St. S. on April 3.

The public are invited to board the 122-foot genuine replica of the fast, armed privateer Lynx, which helped America win the War of 1812 against the British. Guests can become part of the crew, working the sails and take a turn at the helm, or just relax and enjoy an afternoon sail on beautiful Tampa Bay. Passengers welcome to bring their own snacks and beverages.

It's now located at 927 4th Street North and is open Monday through Saturday and offers five ATMs.
