Public budget summit, open to public

St. Petersburg, Florida -- Residents are invited to help city leaders determine funding priorities for the FY14 budget during the first of three public budget summits on Wednesday, April 24. Wednesday's summit will be held at the Willis S. Johns Center, 6635 Dr. M.L. King Jr. St. N. at 6 p.m.

City administrators will provide a short summary of the proposed budget before allowing public comment on proposed reductions. Leaders are hoping to maintain the same level of quality service provided to residents over previous budget cycles without additional reductions.

Residents can share coffee and conversation with Mayor Foster beginning at 7 a.m.

St. Petersburg, Florida -- Tampa Bay’s largest labor union, the West Central Florida Federation of Labor (AFL-CIO), has endorsed Rick Kriseman’s campaign for Mayor of St. Petersburg.  

“I am proud to have the support of the brothers and sisters of the West Central Florida Federation of Labor,” said Kriseman. “I have a track record of standing up for working class people in St. Petersburg and throughout the state. As Mayor, I will continue to fight for a strong middle class and a robust economy that treats people fairly.”

Domestic partners can register

Domestic partners can register

Pinellas County, Florida -- Beginning April 15, any two people over the age of 18 will be able to register as domestic partners in Pinellas County, subject to certain limitations. 

Registration as domestic partners will afford unmarried couples certain rights relative to each other regarding health care visitation and decisions, funeral and burial decisions as well as notification of information conveyed to other family members.

Pinellas County, Florida -- Pinellas County commissioners and the county administrator will be spending quality time with the public on Wednesday, April 10, at Pinellas County’s 2014 Budget Community Forum.

It’s the community’s chance to find out more about Pinellas County programs and services and provide feedback on next year’s budget. As the county works on a strategic direction for the future, they are asking citizens to share their own vision of the community and of Pinellas County as a whole.

 Residents are invited to share what's on their mind with Mayor Foster while supporting the iconic St. Petersburg restaurant at 3920 6th St. S. Breakfast with the Mayor begins at 7 a.m.

If there's no time for Breakfast, visit one-on-one with Mayor Foster and city staff April 11 when the Museum of Fine Arts hosts Mayor's Night Out at 6 p.m.
