The Food truck trend is sweeping the Bay area. In Hillsborough County alone, there are roughly 224 restaurants on wheels.
Stacked sandwiches, slow smoked BBQ and fresh mex... those are just a few of the foods that have many captivated by the food truck culinary craze.

Many food trucks have die-hard fans. Here's what a few told us they liked best: "Fresh ingredients, good food, homemade salsa." It's delicious... it's the best Mexican I've ever had."
While downtown Tampa is rolling out a "food truck fiesta" on the first Wednesday of every month, state inspectors are cracking down on unlicensed vendors. They just shut down three unlicensed vendors they say were selling food at unsafe temperatures.
State inspectors stop by for surprise visits at least twice a year.
Sandi Poreda is with the Department of Business and Professional Regulation in Tallahassee, the agency in charge of restaurant inspections.
Poreda says, "We want to make sure the food is being stored safely. It's in proper containers. It's being prepared safely, with clean utensils, clean hands, so it can be served safely."
10 News took a look at inspection reports in the Bay area over the past few months and focused on a few popular favorites.
-Taco Bus/Tampa/St. Pete
-Da-Kine Hawaiian Cafe
-Wicked 'Wiches
-Fire Monkey Food Truck
The violations we found were NOT serious enough to warrant an emergency closure, but inspectors did find some critical violations, that they say, if not corrected could make you sick.
