Money Monday: Even 10 News employees cash out!
News

St. Petersburg, FL-- During this week's Money Monday segment, 10 News and WTSP.com employees were able to discover big bucks for themselves, and family members!

Money Monday kicked off at 10 News after Heather Van Nest found a lot of unclaimed cash just sitting in a state account- money where banks, insurance and utility companies claimed they couldn't find many Florida residents, so the state ended up with it.

The head of our web department, Digital Director Theresa Collington, hit the jackpot as she found nearly $1600 from an old real estate transaction.

"We were working on the website database to make it easier for people to use it," Theresa told us.

"I was testing it and thought, 'let me just put in my name to see.' I was married before, so I put in my name now, and nothing. But, I put in my previous name, and there was money for me."

And it doesn't stop there! 10 news employees found 26 unclaimed cash accounts for themselves or their relatives.

Reporter Laura Byrne found money for her husband, dad, two uncles, one cousin and two friends after searching for 5 minutes!
