St. Pete introduces first flashing yellow arrow signal
News

St. Petersburg, Florida -- Starting this week, the Florida Department of Transportation began testing the flashing yellow signal at one St. Pete intersection.

National studies have shown the flashing yellow arrow is a low-cost safety measure that has been effective in preventing crashes by reminding motorists wanting to turn left to yield to oncoming traffic.

The new flashing yellow arrow signal can be found at 34th Street N. and 38th Avenue.

The city has placed variable message boards at locations approaching the intersection to educate drivers about the new flashing yellow arrow.
