Clearwater, Florida -- Demetrius Jordan told a judge last month that he wanted to accept responsibility for the crash that killed a father and his three adult sons in August 2010.

The family was visiting the Bay area from Orlando.

Jordan pleaded guilty to four counts of DUI Manslaughter and a 5th count for the injuries his cousin received in the crash.

He is scheduled to be sentenced today at 1:30 p.m. and faces a minimum of 44 years in prison, up to life based on sentencing guidelines.

Investigators say Jordan was behind the wheel when he sped through a red light at 80 miles per hour, crashing into a rental car driven by 51-year-old Elroy McConnell.

McConnell and his sons, Elroy McConnell III, 28, Nathan McConnell, 24, and Roy McConnell, 19, were returning to their beach rental home after a guys night out to see a movie.

All four died on scene of the crash at MLK Jr. Blvd. and 22nd Ave. N.

Investigators say Jordan had been drinking Four Loko, liquor and smoked marijuana before he got behind the wheel that night in August 2010.

His blood alcohol level was 0.154.

The McConnell family did not speak to the media, but released this statement last month: "No outcome will change this tragedy, one we live with every day. But we do hope these proceedings demonstrate the importance of never, ever driving impaired."
