Sanderlin Center hosts Family Fun Day

St. Petersburg, Florida -- The 17th Annual Family Fun Day Festival at the James B. Sanderlin Family Service Center, 2335 22nd Avenue South, will be held on Saturday, May 4, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

All activities are free and open to the public - including entertainment, give-aways, medical screenings, agency presentations, inflatable games, music, food and ice cream. Some of the featured performers are The Original Florida Spiritualairs, the Mighty Sons of Zion, Southern Soul Jazz Duo, Saxophonist Henry Ashwood, the Kali Kali dancers and more.

St. Petersburg, Florida -- The city of St. Petersburg Fire Rescue is partnering up with the Venetian Isles Water Safety Initiative team and Florida Suncoast Safe Kids to alert people to pool safety. 

Venetian Isles has had three unfortunate drowning incidents in the past five years.

Tampa, Florida -- WestShore Plaza will have the Easter Bunny has hopped into garden.  Visits and photos with the Bunny are offered through Saturday, March 30th.

“Visiting the Easter Bunny is fun family tradition,” says Kristy Genna, Marketing Director for WestShore Plaza. “WestShore Plaza’s Bunny visits with children and families in his live garden full of flowers, with an occasional egg to spot too.”

'Each One-Reach One' & site launch to tackle foster family recruitment goals

Tampa, Florida-- Despite Tampa Bay's lead in the state for the number of newly licensed foster families, state and local officials say they are still in desparate need of willing and well-suited parents as nearly 2,000 Bay area foster children remain. 

The recent "Fostering Florida's Future"  and "1200 New Foster Parents in 12 Months" initiatives have helped the Bay area land over 150 new foster homes just this year, and DCF officials say they are rolling out two new recruitment efforts to keep the growth going.

St. Pete Beach, Florida -- Sarah Tierney has taught middle school for 16 years. She also has a son. While she’s not looking to switch jobs, she is seeking a public middle school for her son.

Jack is in his second year at Montessori By The Sea and when she and other parents started talking about where they intended to send their children when they started middle school they decided the time had come to bring a public school back to the beach.
