Antiques & Collectibles Show returns to Coliseum

St. Petersburg, FL -- Re-used, recycled and re-purposed furniture, jewelry, art and more will fill St. Petersburg's historic Coliseum as it hosts Florida's top antiques show - Sunshine City Antiques & Collectibles Show - Jan. 13-15, 2012.

The Sunshine City Antiques & Collectibles Show runs Friday, Jan. 13 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 14 & 15, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Admission is $6 for adults. Paid admission is good for the entire weekend.

On Jan. 1, 1912, Florida’s 48th county was created as the Pinellas Independence Bill went into effect, establishing Pinellas County as a separate entity from Hillsborough County.

As the 100th anniversary of this historic event approaches, Heritage Village welcomes the New Year with two centennial celebrations sponsored by the Pinellas County Historical Society: Pinellas by the Decades and the Pinellas Folk Festival.

20 pets get new home at Pinellas Paws Cause

Jacob Aunspaugh came to the Pinellas Paws Cause Saturday with his family. His dad runs the Fire Monkey food truck and they were there as part of the rally.

He ended up going home with an early birthday present: a puppy.

“I couldn’t pass it up,” said Jacob, who turns 12 on Tuesday. “I fell in love. Definitely.” His father agreed.

There were 20 families who felt the same way, which event organizers said was the best measure of the event’s success.

Visit Enoch Davis Center, 1111 18th Ave. South, on Dec. 19 from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. to see jolly ole' St. Nick.

Infants to children 11 years of age are invited to visit with Santa and receive one complimentary holiday photograph with him. Additional photographs will be available for purchase.
