Man robs pizza restaurant with knife

St. Petersburg, Florida -- Wood Fire Pizza was robbed by a man with a knife and it was all caught on tape.

On Sunday, March 24 around 3:37 a.m. officers responded to Wood Fire Pizza at 344 First Avenue South regarding an armed robbery.

According to reports, two employees were closing up the store. One employee went outside the back door to empty the trash when he was approached by a lone male.

The man punched him in the face, threatened him with a butcher knife, and then tied his hands with zip ties.

1st illegal spice arrest made in St. Pete

St. Petersburg, Florida -- The owner of a drive-thru convenience store was arrested Wednesday for selling illegal spice from her store. 

After learning of the alleged activity, on Feb. 4, St. Pete Police sent an undercover officer to Nessa's Drive-Thru on 9th Avenue to buy two packages of synthetic marijuana known as "spice", labeled "Mr. Happy Potpurri" featuring a yellow smiley face on the front.

4 shot overnight in St. Pete in possible robbery attempt

St. Petersburg, Florida -- Detectives are still searching for several suspects in connection with the overnight shooting in St. Petersburg.

Investigators say it appears a victim of the shooting riding in the Nissan Altima was hit by stray gunfire exchanged between the limo driver and the occupants of the Chrysler 300. A passenger of the Chrysler 300 and two riding in the limo at the time were also shot.

St. Pete detective's missing firearms found

St. Petersburg, Florida -- St. Pete Police detectives have recovered two firearms that were stolen from a detective's ditched in Lake Maggiore Monday.

St. Petersburg, Florida -- St. Pete Police are trying to find the suspect or suspects who stole a detective's unmarked police car along with the weapons stored in the trunk and drove the car into a lake.

Police say it appears sometime during the night, the suspect or suspects broke into the detective's personal vehicle parked outside his south St. Pete home, stole his police car's keys from the center console and then the car. It also appears the culprit(s) unsuccessfully tried to steal his personal vehicle.

Detectives investigate water scam

St. Petersburg, Florida -- The St. Petersburg Police Department are investigating incidents of men impersonating city municipal workers in order to gain entrance into individuals homes.

Since the beginning of March, detectives have investigated two incidents involving two men coming to the homes of elderly residents claiming to be from the water department. The men claimed that they needed to check the hot water pipes and once allowed inside they split up, with one going to the kitchen and the other going to a bathroom.

REWARD: Info leading to arrest, conviction in bank robberies

St. Petersburg, Florida -- St. Pete Police has announced that Wells Fargo is offering a reward up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect or suspects responsible for the two robberies of one of its branches.

The two robberies in question occurred on Jan. 26 and March 15 at the 66th Street branch.
