Surveillance videos released in 7-Eleven armed robberies

St. Petersburg, Florida -- St. Pete released surveillance video Wednesday of two 7-Eleven robberies less than four miles away from each other taking place about a week apart.

Police say they believe both robberies are related but are asking for tips and/or information to help investigators solve the robbery at the store in the 11500 block of 4th Street North on Oct. 29.

The other robbery on Nov. 6 at the 7-Eleven in the 6100 block of 4th Street North, resulted in the death of suspect Lamont Burgess after he was shot by a CASE detective. His accomplice, Ebony Oliver, was arrested and charged in that robbery. The getaway driver who got away that night has also been located and is cooperating with investigators.

Detectives say there are similarities between the two robberies including the type of business, both being committed early Tuesday morning, the number of suspects, the general description of the suspects and type of clothing they wore, the way the crime was committed, and general proximity of the stores.

Anyone who has any information on the Oct. 29 robbery is asked to contact the St. Pete Police Department.
