Man brings gun to airport | Crime

Clearwater, Florida -- A Largo man was arrested Friday after TSA agents found a gun in his backpack while he was going through security at St. Pete/Clearwater Airport.
According to the sheriff's office, 45-year-old Charles Wright, of Largo, told police he forgot to take the gun out of his backpack from the night before. He said he keeps the gun for protection while working as a marine mechanic.
The loaded KelTec 32-caliber handgun was found in a case inside his backpack.
Wright was scheduled to be on Allegiant Air Flight 860 to Lexington, Kentucky to visit relatives around 7 a.m.
He was arrested and charged with Carrying a Concealed Firearm and was taken to the Pinellas County Jail.
