St. Petersburg Chamber announces 2012 Entrepreneurial Academy | Business
St. Petersburg, Florida -- The St. Petersburg Area Chamber of Commerce is gearing up to train entrepreneurs with an intensive, 10-week course.
The Entrepreneurial Academy is a program taught by community business leaders that teaches entrepreneurs the vital skills they need to start their business right.
“When you’re thinking about starting a business on your own, it helps to have an army of experienced business people behind you, asking ‘Did you think about this, have you considered that?’” says David Punzak, Chairman of the St. Petersburg Chamber Board in a release.
This year’s curriculum includes sessions on legal entities, accounting, loan options, marketing, social media, insurance, and HR. Each topic is presented by a local business person who has made their career in the respective field. Instructors and presenters have volunteered their time to the program.
The course will be held on Monday nights from 6 - 9 p.m. at Chamber offices in downtown St. Petersburg. Participants pay only $299 for the course, which includes all 10 classes with meals provided.
Applications to the program are being accepted through Aug. 31, and there is no prior experience needed to apply. To learn more about the Academy and to sign up for this year’s class, visit www.stpete.com/ea.
