St. Petersburg, Florida -- The talent of the 250 of the nation’s top visual artists showcasing their pieces on downtown waterfront of Vinoy Park, at the 38th Annual Mainsail Arts Festival.

The event is sure to deliver with an entertainment lineup featuring a dash of Latin flavor, followed by classic rock and blues to have you swinging the night away. The music continues Sunday with Retro Surf Music, stompin’ bluegrass, and gospel.

Treasure Island - The Ikebana International Annual Japanese Floral Exhibition is Saturday, March 23rd from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, March 24th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

It will be at the Treasure Island Community Center, 1 Park Place & 106th Avenue.

51st annual Japanese floral exhibition with this years' theme, "The Art of Leaves and Ikebana."

Over 100 stunning Ikebana arrangements with the beauty and movement of leaves as the focus.

Demonstrations Saturday and Sunday at 11am and 1:30pm.

New mural at Pinellas Safe Harbor

St. Petersburg, Florida -- Residents of Pinellas Safe Harbor have laid down their paintbrushes on a 250-hour, year-long collaborative mural project which has yielded an improved living space along with positive life lessons.

While the mural project has brightened shelter walls with images of ferns, birds and butterflies, residents have voluntarily undergone a similar transformation as they prepare to re-enter society.

Since March 2011, master artist Pam Miles guided and supervised more than 200 shelter residents-turned-apprentice-artists during the innovative project.

Art competition for 38th Annual Mainsail Art Festival

St. Petersburg, Florida -- Student artists in grades K-12 are invited to compete for a chance to exhibit their artwork at the 38th Annual Mainsail Art Festival.

The festival will take place on April 20-21, 2013 in downtown St. Petersburg. The Young at Art Student Competition has been a part of Mainsail for 11 years and is a juried exhibition open to all public and private school students in Pinellas County.

St. Petersburg, Florida -- Spend the weekend amongst books.

Friday, March 8 to Sunday, March 10 the Annual Florida Antiquarian Book Fair will take place at the St. Petersburg Coliseum. 

There will be lectures and book signings as well as 115 national and international dealers selling rare and out of print books. 

A three-day pass costs $10 dollars and a single day pass costs $6.
